Nimbin, known as the "Alternative Capital of Australia" or "The Weed Capital of Australia" is located in the Rainbow Region of NSW. The eccentric lifestyle in Nimbin had made it into a very colourful place with heaps of hippies. Thanks to Ray for organising the trip and making it a reality to be in Nimbin! :)
Our Car for the day! A blue convertible that looks so cool, but not too comfortable especially for those sitting behind.... Mei Tien and me! haha... It is super "unglam" for us girls to "climb" in and out of the car! AND our hair becomes so super unruly when we opened the car roof.... Nimbin welcomes refugees! The town is filled with vibrantly coloured murals and graffiti. The feeling is so different when walking along the one street town. The people there are so environmental and peace loving, and the sense of humour they have is so quirky and entertaining! With Ray, Mei Tien and Cigarettes and the holy smoke mural behind Mei Tien's head :( Richard was seldom featured in the photos because he was the camera man... THANKS A LOT Richard for the nice nice photos! :)Nimbin humour is seen everywhere on the walls or in the shops. Some of it just leaves you with non-stop laughing stitches at your sides. After Nimbin, we decided to take a detour to Springbrooke as suggested by Richard to visit some very nice "view" at the top of the mountain. But thanks to the rain, we ended up seeing this... mist and clouds along the way and at the all the lookout points we went to... (@_@)" When walking towards those lookout points, we had to bring umbrellas along to avoid getting WET from the rain! :( That was how comical we look... The irony of the trip was, we lost our way at the end of the trip when we wanted to head over to Sunnybank for dinner and "tong sui" SWTF! Hence ended up in Cyber city for dinner instead, and Richard's place for "dessert" session. Crappy weather + great company + alternative culture = a great road trip! :)
