My second week working in DB, and it went pretty well... Worked on this new system last week called the 'bar map', which lists all the upcoming DB promotional events for different bars/clubs around NZ. Thus, Jason (my manager) decided to send me out with the sales team this week to "see" how the sales team set those promotions up and running.

I basically had "road trips" around Auckland for one whole bloody week, moving from one bar to another to set up BBQ pits (competition prize to drive on-site Christmas sales) in Return Serviceman Association Clubs and Cosmopoliton Clubs... The promo site we set up in the bars basically look like this...

Yea, that's how the BBQ pit looks like when it's fully set up... the record time to set up one BBQ pit was...
40 mins!

One of the outlets we went to wanted the BBQ pit on a platform right above the bar! I'm not kidding, ON TOP! It took us a good half an hour with 6 person to get the BBQ pit up there... boy was that hard work... I totally forgot to snap a photo... Bloody!

Back to my "road trip" around Auckland, I travelled to many places I would not thought of going while in NZ, some of those areas are so "ulu" that there was no reception on my phone... (@_@)" But some of the places was just BEAUTIFUL, especially areas around Warkworth... However, I was just too "pai seh" to take out my camera to snap photos while my colleague drove on to our destination...

(Manual) Work was tiring, BUT... I got free lunches and beers from the guys! :p

Went to Tiger Translate, NZ last Friday. It was a pretty cool event, pretty underground, and something very different. Tiger Translate is a global event concept that evolves around the fusion of the East meets West culture through music, art and multi-media. And for the first time in three years, Tiger Translate NZ decides to open its doors to the public! :)

The theme of the event is 'Light', which features an exhibition of lanterns by street, graphic design, tattoo, sculptural and multi-media artists. It also features a feast of motion graphics that filled Zen Bar with blended images and video taken from Tiger Beer's collection of Translate inspired images.

The set up for Fu & Zen Bar is made up of visual lighting... Thus, the lack of pictures of the artwork and site deco... :(

The lanterns are pretty amazing, with different creative designs on each side. Some of the lanterns focuses on visual lightings with the colours of the lights changing every few mins or so...The site deco is even more amazing! Utilising multi-media motion graphics, the decoration is forever changing the whole night... And all the graphics are according to the "Tiger" theme.
And now... Ida's picture session in Tiger Translate! :p
Cindy and me!Cindy, Maxine and me...Us girls with Shaun... This is such a S.M.A.L.L. world! Cindy actually knows Shaun and Maxine!
Shaun is Uncle Poh's son, while Cindy knows Maxine because Maxine and Diane are family friends! SWT...
With some girls we met in the event...I enjoyed the event pretty much, it was so different from those events I have attended in the pass... And some of the underground bands playing that night is not too bad... surprisingly :p

Stealing some time from work to blog! :p The internet at home just sucks big time...
Was browing through my work email and saw these super cool inflatables from a monthly newsletter! Its hard to imagine that inflatables can be made into something so cute and creative!

This is the set up for a Toyota Motor Show in Sydney. The "cube" as they called the structure is just so colorful! :p

This is one of my favorites, from Slide Furniture in Milan, the little christmas tree structure is adorable, and all the set up for the furnitures are made up by inflatable objects...
Another personal favorite. This one is in Melbourne, where they transformed a big warehouse with inflatable structures. After the transformation, the warehouse just look like a very cool lounge bar! This is from the Redbull Bar Experiance in London. And this... is the turtle shaped "building" for the Inflate Expo in England.
Ain't those cute? aww... I'd love to try attending an event in one of those infaltable "buildings"!

I can't help it, I just NEED to B.I.T.C.H. about the series 家好月圆! That bloody coconut head is so super bitchy! I have never seen such an evil person before! ISSSSSHHHHH....!!!! (woman in reddish pink sitting in the middle). Not only her the other BLOODY BITCH (young girl in pinkish red sitting at the right corner) is also SUPER SUPER bitchy! WTF!

Those two characters are just the bitchiest characters I had ever seen in a TVB series! really! Even the last 溏心风暴is not that frustrating! Whoever had watched the series will know what I'm saying, but those who have not watched it, GO WATCH! It's super addictive and frustrating... :p

But at times, certain parts of the series is very sweet (管家仔), and very touching, especially when seeing how great a grandmother's love and a mother's love can be... sob sob... Ok, I feel much better now :p ahhahah

A random post to "show off" my new accommodation for two months. The place is very modern, very convenient for work and shopping :p
My house unit 22, Arunai Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland, 1060
I'm expecting parcels and cards everyone! :pThe balcony of the unit that I stay. From there, I can see Sylvia Park shopping center, so called the biggest shopping center around :p But the place is smaller than Garden City shopping Center!
This is the Kitchen... My D.O.M.A.I.N. But... I'm not going to be cooking much in Nz :(
And the common area -the sofa and the dining table-
My room... so called sanctuary :p where I'll be spending most of my time there, watching drama when I have nothing to do... See, there's drama playing on my laptop down there :p
Will be starting work on Monday at DB Breweries, Uncle Poh fetched me around the Otahuhu area, and the place looks DODGY! Oh well, its just for two months... Fingers cross...

my 1st day in New Zealand
Arrive at SUPER early in the morning, but the good thing is, there's less line at the customs cause ours is the ONLY plane in that wee hour of the day.
After that, I took a shuttle van to Mt Eden and waited there for Uncle Poh to fetch me to my new place. Took a short nap at uncle Poh's Living room and after a nice breakfast with his cute 9 year old daughter Shirleen, I'm off to my house...

This is such a small world... (@_@)" my new flatmate Karen, is a Malaysian from Subang, who knows the two Come Back Kings Matthew and Matthew. And my two cousin Ooi and my BROTHER!!!! Gosh, Malaysia is so small, or to say SUBANG IS FREAKING SMALL!!

P.S. My house is not even 5 mins away from the so called biggest shopping mall in Auckland!
P.S.S. NZ is super super ULU!!! (@_@)"

Every few days whenever I read The Star online, I tend to see some very "funny" news from Malaysia. Just recently, some Islamic activist are "trying" to ban Muslims from doing Yoga because "it is related to Indian culture and religion"... (@_@)"

And now...
Malacca may give RM1,000 to men who take them as second wives
- Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam -

I wonder what he was thinking... This is not only encouraging polygamy, but also implying the fact that single mothers NEED "men" in their lives. What an insult this is(in my opinion)! In this modern society, people are discouraging polygamy, yet our beloved government(Malacca) is encouraging this "fantastic phenomenon" by providing "incentives" to those who take single mother as second wives... How irony.

In the same article, the Malacca Government is also considering to give incentives to youths who get married before 30... "to curb social ills"! Wow... Marrying early can curb social ills? That is something new!

Yea, reading the Malaysian newspaper is definitely a source of "entertainment"! SWT

November 4, 2008 @ 5:15 PM

Today is such a significant day... Melbourne Cup is today, US Presidential Election is today, but the most important thing that affect us (oops ME!) is the Australian Reserve Bank cut on interest rates!!

THE Reserve Bank has slashed interest rates by 75 basis points to 5.25 per cent in a move aimed at stimulating the slowing economy... But in a blow to consumers the Commonwealth Bank announced it would cut rates by only 58 basis points. Westpac and ANZ said they were reviewing their rates.

Interest rates had been slashed, now means lower FD :-/ (There goes my 7% interest p/a) but lower housing loans as well ^_^ weee!!!

But than Banks are still "reviewing" the interest rates slash... bugger, they better cut the housing loans rates by A LOT and compatible to what the reserve bank had did!!
